Hello BFK’ers, How are we? Hope we are doing well.

Today i am going to show you how to change the default thumbnail selector in your add-on section of your build if you use the Icon selection of how to view your add-ons.

As i know everyone views what they look at differently but for me i like to view my add-ons by icons,And when you select each icon you will see that its the default Kodi Blue Square. And in some instances it can be a bit hard to distinguish what icon you are actually on. the only give away will be the text on the bottom left hand corner, So it could be worth you changing it to something that in more prominent.

So here i will show you how.

We are going to need

Texture tool.

And any photo editing Program in my case i use Photoshop.

If you need the texture tool you can check out my other blogs and grab it from one of them.

You will find it in the links below.

KODI SKINNING HELP

BACK TO BASICS

Ok now you have what you need lets open and extract our texture file (again you can follow the kodi skinning help blogs to see how to do this).

Once extracted we need to find a .png file that is called thumbnail_focused.png

And we will find it in the thumbs folder.

And in there you will find the .png you need to edit.

As you can see its the Kodi default blue.

So do what you need to do in what ever editing program you use and the save it into the same folder and the same name as a .PNG file.

Once we have done that we need to open our Texture tool.

And we need to compile a new texture file from the bottom section of the texture tool app.

When you select the output tab you select were to put it and what to call it.

If you are going to keep the same file name ie Textures.xbt then you can skip the next bit, But for this blog i will name my test.xbt

So once your file is in the correct folder (Media) with in the build you are using in my case it is Aeon Nox.

If you have kept the same name all you have to do now is open Kodi go to your Add-on section with in your build and the default kodi square should of changed to what you designed.

Because i named mine “Test” i need to go into kodi and change the theme

So its System.

Interface.

Theme.

Click theme to get the drop down box and i will change from the defauld xbt file to me new test.xbt file.

The build will now change to that test.xbt and then all i need to do is go over to my Add-on section in Kodi.

And Bingo i have a new Highlight Square.

That’s it that’s all there is to it.
