Adding multiple profiles to Kodi
Hello again everyone, thanks for checking out this Adding multiple profiles to Kodi guide .
This Adding multiple profiles to Kodi guide is perfect if there are multiple users of Kodi on one device. For example if you have kids, you can customize a profile so it has only got kids add-ons and a nice cartoon wallpaper.
Meanwhile you can have your own profile with a badass wallpaper and add-ons all of your own. The profiles can even be password protected if you wish to do so.
Right, let’s get this show on the road, launch Kodi and go to,
- System
- Profiles
Once you are here on “Login” move on to the right and make sure to click the “login screen” button so it’s blue which means it’s enabled.
Now back on the left click “Profiles” and now you can see “master user” and “add profile”
Go ahead and click “add profile” and then type in whatever you want to call the profile and click done.
You will now see the below “browse for folder” screen, just move right and click “OK”
You can give the profile a picture by clicking “Profile picture”
Now find where you have your pictures stored on the device and just simple click the picture then click “OK” on the right and that is now set
If you want to password protect a profile click “Lock references” and it will ask you to set a password for the master account 1st so click “yes” then click “master lock disabled” and it will give you the options of password formats you can use so choose one and create your password for the master account and then click “OK”
Then you will be here so click “Profile lock” as now we are creating the password for the profile we have just created, again it will ask you to choose a password format so just repeat the process you did for the master account and set a password. The password for this profile can be the same as the master account if you want it to be.
Once you’ve set the password and are back on the below screen just click “OK”
Now click “copy default” then another box will pop up just go ahead and click “copy default” again.
Now you have created a new profile. If you want to create more just go ahead and follow the steps again. You can see below I created another profile for my kids.
Now when you start Kodi you will get this screen so you can select which profile you want to use.
If you were already in Kodi and you wanted to switch profiles you would go to
- System
- Profiles
Then on the left click “Profiles” so you get the below screen and simply right click (or click the menu button if you are using a remote) on a profile so you get the menu up and you can load profile, also this is where you can delete the profile if it is no longer needed.
And that’s a wrap folks. Hope this Adding multiple profiles to Kodi guide helped you out, if it did, please share it with everyone you know and spread the word about Best For Kodi, go on, you know it makes sense!!!
