The whole process is much simpler believe me and adding some of the extra features is no longer for the more experienced user.
OK, so with the fresh version of the Xonfluenec skin the menu structure supplied probably includes several items you may wish to remove or re-name.
Let’s take a look at how to do this first.
This is what we have to start off with
First I’m going to remove a few items that I don’t want
Go to System, then Skin Settings
Highlight Home menu then select the menu item you wish to remove, I will start with Menu item 1 which in this case is Weather.
Now highlight the section that says Menu item 1 and click it
Now click on Clear menu option.
Repeat this for any other you wish to remove.
It’s a good idea to keep System and Videos as these have important options within them that we need.
My skin now looks a lot simpler. I have only kept the aforementioned System and Videos!
You will notice that when you click on the Menu item to bring up the options where we hit Clear menu option, there are lots of other options. These are pre-built menu item options with submenus that you may wish to make use of?
For example some people like to use the Shutdown Menu item.
OK, now to add some Menu options of our choice
Once again, select System then Skin Settings and select the Menu item to start with. I will will start with Menu item 1 which of course now is blank.
Scroll to the bottom of the menu and select Kodi Command
Now type in the name for your Menu Item. I will call this one Movies. Then click done.
You will see you now have to enter the name of your menu item again. Delete where it says Kodi command and type you Menu label again. In my case Movies and click done.
We now have a blank menu item called Movies
Repeat the above for as many items as you wish. This step is pretty similar to what we did in the original series right?
Right now I’ve just added, Movies, Box Sets and Sports.
So there you go guys.
Have a dabble and get those Main menu items set up how you want them.
In the next blog we will look at creating the links from the menu items and adding sub menus.
