This will be a short, sharp blog as it won’t take long but it will be very effective.
In all the Tutorials i have done in the Skinning section we have always used the Home.xml file to make all our changes.
To make a difference to the RSS feed bar we need to look else where to make the change.
All the same principles apply.
We are going to go to.
C:/user/AppData/Roaming/Kodi/addons/your build/1080i/IncludesHomeRecentlyAdded.xml File
As i have said in previous Tutorials right click on that file and Edit with Notepad++
Now we want to be looking for line 1342 and 1348 OR there about.
So if we start with the submenu_bar.png Replace that with your own .png file.
Mine will be my submenu1.png but what i will do is push it up so it only look like its has a side and a bottom..
The first string should look something like this.
Again if you notice i added a <top> tag just to give me some play with the .png
And this is what i got.
And again we have that submenu_end.png there.
So you can either >< close the tag for it to be removed all together OR you can replace it with another .png in my case that is exactly what i am going to do so my next string will look like this.
And this is what you end up with.
Hold on? Thats not right.?
If we now DELETE the 78,0,0,0 from the “78,0,0,0” on line 1350 so we just leave “” so it looks like this
You could end up with something like this.
That is it, you have now changed all the basics in Kodi from TOP to BOTTOM.
What’s left to do?
I will be looking at changing Fonts in my next Tutorial.
So from this.
We get this.
Not bad for a beginner. If i can make sense of the Kodi world anyone can.
Ok till next time.
Hope this was of some use to you all and i hope you have had fun trying some of these Tutorials out.
