Step 1. Copy this URL https://github.com/jvanakker/tvOSBrowser.git
Step 2: Now on open Xcode 7 and click on Source Control → Check Out. (on the top bar) paste the URL into the bar at the bottom of
Check Out.
Step 3: When Xcode 7 opens click the play button to start to build the App. The build will fail, and you will encounter an error that states: ‘UIWebView’ is unavailable: not available on tvOS
Step 4: Open the Applications folder
Step 5: Right click on Xcode.app and select Show Package Contents
Step 6: We now need to edit a file but in order to edit the Availability.h file all files you click on to get to the Availability.h needs to be read and write permitted. so right click on all the folders below and go to GET INFO → Then click the padlock in the bottom right of the popup, you can now make that folder Read and Wright. You need to do this to all the folders below.
Step 7: Open Developer → Platforms → AppleTVOS.platform → Developer → SDKs → AppleTVOS.sdk → usr → include
Step 8: Double click Availability.h to open in Xcode
Step 9: Find the following lines:
#define __TVOS_UNAVAILABLE __OS_AVAILABILITY(tvos,unavailable) #define __TVOS_PROHIBITED __OS_AVAILABILITY(tvos,unavailable)
Replace those lines with:
#define __TVOS_UNAVAILABLE_NOTQUITE __OS_AVAILABILITY(tvos,unavailable)
#define __TVOS_PROHIBITED_NOTQUITE __OS_AVAILABILITY(tvos,unavailable)
Step 10: Save your changes to Availability.h
Step 8: now go back to Xcode 7 and Try to rebuild the tvOSBrowser using the Play button in Xcode, and it should build successfully
Step 9: Find the tvOSBrowser app icon on your Apple TV and start browsing the web on your TV
It’s really a simple thing to do, and takes about 5 minutes, if that, from beginning to end. If you want a browser on your Apple TV, this is one way to do so.
Right Guys until next time Peace.
