How to make use of the XBT File in Kodi Part 2
Hello again BFKers.
A little re-cap of Part 1 of the .XBT FILE. We have seen how to and what tools to use on how to extracted the file to see what it contains.
So lets get our fingers dirty and do some editing with some of the files that are with in the .xbt file.
I will show you certain files in this Tutorial that will change some of your basic build. Then i will leave you to work out the rest.
Ok for this I am going to use Photoshop but ime guessing that any Editing program for Android will do similar changes.
Ime going to start with listpanel_back.png file.
What will this change in your Build? It will change the Color/Border of you System/Settings profile. It will Change the look of your System Left panel and everything beyond that and also change the Boarder of the Right side panel. As you will see with the Arrows on the screenshot below.
So basically all i am going to do is RIGHT CLICK on the listpanel_back.png. And open with Photoshop.
Once i do that you will see something on the lines of this?.
I must admit it does not look much does it?.
Ok the next bit is all about you? Why do i say that well i say that because its all about your creativity.
In this example i will just show you how you can get a bit of color in there and i will show you how you can add an image.
1st thing to do from here is double click on your Layer on the right hand side of Photoshop.
Your Layer Style Window will open.
What you see below might look a bit Terrifying but its there for you to play around will, In each section you will be able to change something in the listpanel_back.png So my advice to you is have a play and see what you come up with.
For this Tutorial i am going to Check every box that is there.
Also bare in mind i use this Program all the time so some of MY settings will not be default so the settings with in the Layer Style window will be from what i created on the last time i opened it.
OK so this is what id did?……………
So once you have made all the changes you want to do click the OK tab
I Honestly havent go a clue what this is going to look like but we will soon find out….
To add an Image then all you need to do is DRAG and DROP into the window of Photoshop.
The Arrow on the left is for resizing the Image and the Arrow on the right is indicating the Clarity of how it will be seen in your Build
Now what we do is we need to save the file with its EXACT FILE NAME IN THE EXTACTED XBT FILE FOLDER.
HO ok heres how. in the TOP LEFT corner of Photoshop you will see FILE.
Click File the SAVE.
The next screen you will be presented with will be the FOLDER in which the FILE came from.
MAKE SURE YOU SAVE IN THE EXACT FOLDER AND YOU CHANGE THE FILE EXTENSION TO A PNG.
If you see this then you know you have done it correctly and just click on YES.
Once saved it is now time to see what you have done.
I will show you how to install the newly created file into your .xbt file and see what it looks like on your Build.
