SO WHAT DO WE NEED
PC – Laptop.
These are the three tools i use to Pimp my Key Board in Kodi.
Unfortunately i cannot give you a link for Photo shop but there are many photo editing programs out there that will do the same process.
So lets start.
I am using Aeon Nox for this tutorial, But i can tell you what you see in the Texture File (ONCE EXTRACTED) are 95% the same in the way of being named the same File Name.
HERE you can find out how to use the Texture Tool.
If you need to know anything else about the Texture tools and how to make use of it you can also find it HERE
Ok so theres the Info lets have a look at what we need to do and what we have to change to Pimp up the Key Board in Kodi.
Below is the default key board that we get with every FRESH Kodi install.
DONT FORGET ONCE YOU HAVE MADE CHANGES TO THE TEXTURE FILE YOU NEED TO MAKE A NEW ONE AND REPLACE THE OLD FILE.
So lets start by changing the background to the Key Board.
Once the Texture.xbt file has been extracted—-if you have followed the above tutorials then you should have a folder, full of folders and .PNG files.
Now to change the back ground to the Key Board we need to find the dialog_back.png.
Once you have placed the about in one of your photo editing programs then you can change it to something like this?…..and these are just examples.
So now we have that we can change the Keys of the Key Board.
And you will find that in the “Thumbs” folder of the texture files.
And in there you will find the Panel_border.png file and this is the file that you need to transform in your Photo editing program.
Then again once you have played with that file in you desired program than you could end up with something like this.
And you will notice the High light section of the key board is still blue which is the Default color of the Kodi XBT file.
Now we will change that to compliment the Key board.
For this we need to change the button_middle_focus.png
And again with a little tweaking and playing about with different options in your photo editing program you can have lots of fun designing the Key Board you like.
As you can see below the Blue has now changed to a brighter red.
So now you have the basics on How to Pimp up your Key Board.
Hope you get some use out of this Tutorial and stay tuned to The Best For Kodi for much more.
Untill next time Take Care
