Good Morning Guys and Girls this blog will show you how to Install and Setup Meta Kodi addon, this great little addon will be used by a lot of addons in the future so will be a must add to your kodi device.

Right to the job in hand Install and Setup Meta Kodi addon.
This addon is not an easy one to understand or setup so hopefully this blog will help a few of you out and heard through the grapevine that quite a few addons will use it in the future so its important to get it on your device in anticipation for these. One of them addons is Renegades guide when that returns very soon.
So what is Meta kodi? and What does it do?
The Meta Kodi Addon lists media from TMDb and TheTVDb. When you choose the media you want, the Meta addon will search through your local library ,plus any addons that are configured to be searched, and display a selection which will allows you to choose the source to use for media playback.
Download the Meta Kodi Addon Repo and save to a location you can easily access from your Kodi device or Android TV Box.
- Open Kodi
- Select SYSTEM
- Select Add-Ons
- Select Install from zip file
- Go to where you downloaded the zip in the first step and select repository.meta-1.0.0.zip
- Wait for Add-on enabled notification
- Select System
- Select Add-Ons
- Select Install from Repository
- Select Video Addons
- Click Install Meta Kodi addon
- Wait for Add-on enabled notification
- Then Select Install from Repository
- Click Context Menus
- Select Meta Context menu
- Click on Install
- Wait for Add-on enabled notification
You are ready to configure this addon.
Now go to Video Add-ons, Highlight Meta Kodi icon and then right click to bring up the context menu and select Addon Settings.
We now want to go to the General Tab, under the Players Url, enter this Url Exactly http://bit.ly/1Rac74q and then select Install from URL.
Now go back to Players Url & enter a new URl… http://tinyurl.com/jqcev34 & hit the INSTALL FROM URL once again.
When Kodi asks if you want to replace old players select no, that way you will have as many players available to you as possible.
Now we want to scroll down to Enable Movie players the addon will offer addons you have installed as you can see from the screenshot below.
Select the addon you prefer, I have used Exodus as its the main one i use but you can select more than one option here.
Now we want to Select a preferred movie player
Now Choose your preference, again it’s Exodus for me as its my main addon for Movies.
Now we want to Select the Enable Tv Players
Now we want to select a preferred TV Player, I used Exodus again and then click OK
Now we want to head for Preferred Movie Player from Library.
Now Choose which player you’d prefer..I’m going for Exodus for my Library.
Once you have setup your Movie and TV Show settings, we need to sort out Live TV, which is what Renegades will be using.
Go into the Meta Addon settings, under ‘General’ go down to the ‘Live section’ and click on ‘Enabled TV players’.
Click to highlight and enable each of the add ons you use to watch Live TV, and click ok.
Do not set a preferred Live TV player.
Now don’t forget to hit OK at the bottom to save all your setup
The addon setup is now complete.
I am guessing once the new Renegades is available we will be able to select it as the Live Tv player etc but will have to see and i will update this blog once i know more.
Now we can search for TV channels, this will only work for channel names as they appear in the Live TV addons.
Search for the channel name as accurately as possible, searching for ‘BBC One’ should bring up some addons which have a matching channel name.
Select the addon you would like to use to watch the channel and it should play.
That’s it the searched channel name will be saved in the Meta addon for future use.
