Ok guys, just put together a quick blog on how to Save or Transfer your Kodi Favourites.
There are loads of similar great guides available to you on the website at Bestforkodi.
If you’re like me you use your favourites quite a lot on your set ups for various things such as shortcuts to addons etc.
It can be a pain sometimes if you are using a certain build such as the marvellous Wookie build and you loose all those favourites you have set up when you do an update.
Well here’s how to end that bother right now and save then transfer those favourites over.
OK, first thing we will need is the File Manager HD App.
If you don’t already have this on your system then go to Aptiode or a similar App Store and download it now, it really is a great tool.
Once you have the app, open it up and make sure you click into the setting and check that “Show Hidden Files” is enabled, if you don’t do this you will never be able to see the files we need to access.
So, now with this option on, click on the “Home” icon on the top of the screen. Now click on the “Create” icon and select new folder.
Give it a name, I’ve just called mine “MY SAVES”, this is where we will put our Favourites file.
Let’s go get them favourites now. Using File Manager HD , navigate through the following.
Android, then Data
org,xbmc.kodi
Files
.kodi
Userdata
This is where you will find your Favourites stored.
We are looking for a file names Favourites.xml.
If like here, you see that the file contains very little (0.01kb) and you know you have set up a few favourites, then there will be another folder stored in an area specific to the build. I am using the lastest Wookie build on this set up and this is where you can find it.
Click on the Profiles folder
Then New Hulk Skin folder
And it should be in hiding in here! Now we can see this one has some content (16.27KB)
The file called “Favourites.xml”, this is the one we are after. Click on the “Multi” icon at the top of the screen, then click on the Favourites.xml file and then click “Copy”.
Now click on the Home icon at the top of the screen again and find the new folder you created. Click to go into your new folder then click “Paste”. You know have a copy of your Favourites.xml file.
Now when you update your build you can simply go into your new folder and using what you have learnt, copy your Favouries.xml file. Then navigate to the Userdata folder ( or the profile folder for your build) and click paste. You will then get a message asking you if you would like to overwrite the existing file which of course you do.
Now when you go into your favourites in your new build, all your old favourites will be there for you.
